The Dot

Description:

In class, we read the story The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. After reading the story, we got to create our own dot using a coffee filter. We used many different materials such as crayon, marker, oil pastels, and water color paint. Using a white crayon, I wrote smile in the center of my dot and after painting over it, it became visible.

Extension Activity:

Using this dot activity, students can write some words of motivation on their coffee filter. After completing the project, they can share their dot with someone in their class. This helps students build friendships and create a positive environment. This activity ties in with the book because it inspires others and promotes confidence and creativity.
