Hidden Safari

 Description:
In class today, we participated in the "Hidden Safari" activity. We got to create our own red glasses and identify safari animals in pictures. We created a drawing of a safari animal, drawing upside down, to help us focus on the lines and shapes. When using the red glasses we were able to see the drawing underneath the patterns. The animal drawing is drawn with a cool colored pencil and then the design is drawn using warm colored pencils.

Extension Activity:
An extension activity for this could be done in a science lesson. When students are learning about different animals this would be a great way to introduce drawing. Students could have their choice of animal and learn about warm and cool colors. This is a fun way to integrate science and art.
