Vincent van Gogh
In class, we discussed the artist Vincent van Gogh. We got to create our own artwork using tissue paper and white glue. We ripped apart pieces of tissue paper and using a paint brush, pasted down our tissue paper onto construction paper. We got to create our own landscape to put on top of the background and add a drawing component using white crayon.
Extension Activity:
A short extension activity for this lesson would be to have students write a short artist statement (3-5 sentences). Students can explain what is happening in their landscape, how their landscape feels, and why they chose their landscape. This allows students to describe their artwork and work on writing skills.
